About Kitwagon

Simple, fast, free tools for everyday money questions.

What Kitwagon is

Kitwagon is a small set of simple, fast and free tools. The first one is a currency converter with a transfer-quote checker. You enter what a bank or money-transfer service offers, and Kitwagon shows the exchange rate you actually get, the margin compared with the mid-market rate and the total cost of the transfer.

No sign-up, no pop-ups, and the pages load quickly on any phone.

Where the exchange rates come from

Exchange rates come from Norges Bank’s daily reference rates, used under the Norwegian Licence for Open Government Data (NLOD 2.0). Norges Bank publishes rates against the Norwegian krone (NOK). Kitwagon calculates the cross rates you see (for example GBP to INR) from those NOK rates.

Norges Bank publishes new rates once per Norwegian business day, in the afternoon Oslo time. On weekends and public holidays the most recent rate is shown, and every page shows the date of the rate.

What the rates are – and are not

The rates on Kitwagon are daily reference mid-market rates. They are a benchmark for comparison, not live market prices and not offers. You cannot buy or sell currency at these rates through Kitwagon, and the rate you get from a provider will usually be different.

Kitwagon does not provide financial advice. Always confirm the final amount and fees with your provider before you send money. See our terms and disclaimer.

Independent

Kitwagon is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or paid by any bank, money-transfer provider or Norges Bank, and it does not sell money transfers or rank providers.

The site is free and currently shows no advertising. If ads are added later to cover costs, they will be clearly labelled, and we will ask for your consent first where the law requires it.

Who we are
