Where the choice of provider matters most

45 corridors from the World Bank’s survey (Q3 2025 release), ranked by the gap between the median provider and the cheapest provider when sending USD 200. A large gap means more is gained by comparing providers. Historical survey data, not live prices.

† The cheapest provider’s total cost was negative: its exchange rate was better than the survey’s reference rate by more than its fee. The dollar figure is the gap in percentage points times $2.

How the ranking is made

Each provider counts once per corridor, with its cheapest service for USD 200 (fee plus exchange-rate margin). The gap is the median of those costs minus the lowest cost.

Corridors with fewer than 5 providers are left out, which leaves 45 corridors. A large gap does not mean every provider but one is expensive: it compares the middle of the list with the cheapest.

The ranking uses survey measurements, which can differ from today’s prices. The corridor pages list each provider and its cost.
